With the help of Thermo Fischer Scientific, we have installed a brand new Elemental Analyzer Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer (EA-IRMS) for the analysis of stable carbon, nitrogen and sulfur isotopes of organic materials.
PI: Dr. Ying Cui and Dr. Xiaona Li This instrument is capable of analyzing the mass fraction of carbon (C), nitrogen (N) and sulfur (S) simultaneously from sediments, soil, or natural/synthesized organic compounds. Currently, marine sediments from the Early Eocene Tarim Basin and leaf samples from New Jersey hardwood forest are being analyzed to understand the cycles of these elements in natural environments. |
Thermo engineer Bill Holmes unload the mass spectrometer from a crate.
Our lab is growing every day! Check out our latest publication under https://yingcuipsu.weebly.com/publication.html For collaborations and inquiries, please email Dr. Ying Cui at [email protected] or call 973-655-7273. |
